World’s Children will Meet at Karşıyaka

25th International Karşıyaka Children’s Festival is Beginning

International Karşıyaka Children’s Festival which is being organized for the 25th time this year by Karşıyaka Municipality, will be realized between the 18th and 24th of April. 230 foreign children from 9 countries and ‘Kuzeyin Uşakları Halk Dansları Topluluğu’ (Local Folk Dance Group), will perform magnificent shows during the festival and they will exhibit tens of colourful events.

Joy of Festival

This year 230 children from Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukrania will be coming to Karşıyaka on the 18th of April for “International Karşıyaka Children’s Festival’ being the children’s festival lasting long as coming after TRT program. One of the most colourful groups of organization will be a local folk dance group named as “Kuzeyin Uşakları Halk Dansları Topluluğu” that will attend from Ankara with their 26 members. Children of the world will celebrate ‘23rd of April International Indepen-dence and Children’s Festival’ all week long with great joy.

Start will be Given with a Cortege

The start of events will be given at Karşıyaka Bazaar on the 19th of April Wednesday at 17.30 with a cortege to which all of the groups will attend with their traditional outfits. Afterwards an opening ceremony will be held at Ahmet Piriştina Recreation Center (next to Karşıyaka İZBAN Station). Besides the children guests, Karşıyaka Municipality Smyrna Choreography Group and Karşıyaka Municipality Folk Dances Group will present a visual festival with the shows they will exhibit.

Magnificent Final 

During the festival colourful shows will be exhibited at different places of the district. Trips will also be organized for the children. The events will be ended with the final shows that will be presented on the 23rd of April International Independence and Children’s Festival. Children guests will leave Karşıyaka on the 24th of April.

Festival for a Quarter of a Century

Karşıyaka Mayor Hüseyin Mutlu Akpınar said:“We will celebrate the 23rd of April International Independence and Children’s Festival’ which our Great Leader Ataturk has given to the children of the world as a gift, with our festival that continues for a quarter of a century again. We will make the children of world meet with peace, friendship and love once again. We are awaiting everyone to participate in our events and to be part of this big joy”.
